Vinyl printing is when large format inkjet printers are used to print digitally onto vinyl banners for outdoor advertising purposes. Some large format inkjet printers are capable of printing a full color outdoor billboard on a single piece of material.
The most commonly used material is a heavy weight vinyl known as PVC. There are various types of vinyl banner with useful lives ranging from 3-5 years. Vinyl banners have many uses and applications. They are most often used to promote a company’s logo, a special promotion, event, team or school. Since vinyl is a very flexible and portable material is used just about anywhere, most commonly as billboards, table banners, trade show banners, building banners, street banners, and stadium flags.
Good quality banners will have grommets (metal or plastic rings) incorporated into the hems so that they can be hung on fence posts, walls, or on the side of buildings.
Vinyl printing has also become a very popular and effective advertising medium for use on vehicles. Designs digitally printed onto adhesive PVC rolls can be cut to fit any shape and size of vehicle. Vehicle vinyls are everywhere, from rally cars to delivery trucks.
